Traffic Boom Barrier (also known as a boom gate or barrier gate) is a mechanical or electromechanical device used to control vehicle access at entry or exit points. It consists primarily of a long arm or pole that moves up and down to either block or allow the passage of vehicles.

1. Boom Arm: The horizontal bar that blocks the road.

2. Motorized Mechanism: Lifts and lowers the boom arm.

3. Control System: Manual push button, remote control, RFID reader, or automatic sensors.

4. Housing Unit: Encases the motor and electronics.

5. Safety Features:

   • Loop detectors (to detect vehicles)

   • IR sensors (to prevent the barrier from closing on objects)
